Quiet story: Monmouthshire councillor Ian Chandler says he will stand for leader of the Wales Green Party next month (Welsh outlets only)
Cllr Chandler, Monmouthshire's only Green councillor, announced his bid in a Monmouthshire Beacon column, saying he wants a Green movement that 'challenges the concentration of power'. Leader Anthony Slaughter, who has led the party since 2018 and won a Senedd seat in May, told Nation.Cymru that nominations have not yet opened and he will set out his position then. It follows the resignation of former deputy leader Phil Davies over the 'Zionism is racism' motion. No outlet in our rated sample covered it in the last 48h; Nation.Cymru and the Monmouthshire Beacon did (neither is in our rating table). Sources: Nation.Cymru, Monmouthshire Beacon. More coverage
